This years meeting will be held at Camp McDowell, adjacent to the Bankhead National Forest. The meeting will be held from lunch on Friday, September 30th through breakfast on Sunday, October 2nd. We will depart from the format of our previous meetings. Various herp outings will be arranged during the day. We hope to hit some surefire herping spots chosen by some Bankhead experts. Oral and poster presentations will be in the evenings. Don't worry, we will also have plenty of time for our traditional socializing both nights.

ALAPARC Scholarship Initiative

A new initiative we are starting this year is to raise funds to support a Scholarship. The Scholarship would be awarded to an Alabama senior high school student who writes the best essay about the importance of Alabama's reptiles and/or wildlife and why they shouldn't be exploited. It would be our small way to encourage the next generation of conservationists in Alabama.

If you would like to contribute to this effort there are two ways. The first is you can make a contribution to the "ALAPARC Scholarship Fund" via Paypal by clicking on the link below. The second way is to participate in the silent auction at this year's ALAPARC meeting September 30 - October 2nd, 2011. See additional information about auction below.

Silent Auction to Raise Funds for ALAPARC Scholarship Fund

At this years meeting we will be having a silent auction to raise money for the ALAPARC Scholarship Fund. We have been collecting donations of some excellent items from a variety of people and businesses for the auction. If you have any items you would like to contribute for the auction or know of anyone willing to donate an item, please bring them with you to the meeting. Additionally, don't forget your wallets!
